Geistlich is a Swiss family company with roots going back to 1851. It began by processing animal bones and later moved into biomaterials. Geistlich Bio-Oss, a bovine bone substitute, was introduced in the 1980s. Bio-Oss became the most researched bone graft material in dentistry. Geistlich Bio-Gide collagen membrane is often used alongside it. Implantologists use them for ridge, socket and sinus augmentation. It is the gold-standard premium name in regenerative dentistry.
