Features and benefits

  • High alkalinity (pH around 12.5) kills the residual bacteria that survive instrumentation and irrigation, which is why an interappointment dressing is standard in infected cases; dissolves residual necrotic pulp tissue; arrests inflammatory resorption and controls persistent exudate and weeping canals; supports apexification in the open apex; ready-to-use syringe with an intracanal tip places the paste to working length far more reliably than a spiral filler; radiopaque so placement and later removal can be confirmed; twin 2 g pack limits waste.

Directions to use

Complete cleaning and shaping and dry the canal with paper points. Attach the intracanal tip, insert to 2–3 mm short of working length and inject slowly while withdrawing, filling the canal completely — voids leave untreated bacteria. Confirm placement radiographically in difficult cases. Seal with a well-adapted temporary restoration; a leaking temporary makes the dressing useless. Leave in place for 7–21 days as the case requires. At the next visit remove completely by irrigation with sodium hypochlorite and EDTA plus gentle recapitulation — residual calcium hydroxide interferes with sealer bonding, particularly bioceramic and resin sealers. Confirm exact composition, setting times and contraindications against the SafeEndo IFU before publishing.
