Features and benefits
- Light curing gives command set and immediate hardness, so the restoration can be placed straight away — unlike a chemical-set calcium hydroxide, which stays soft and can be displaced during condensation; resin-modified matrix is far more resistant to dissolution than traditional calcium hydroxide, which washes out over time and leaves a void under the restoration; calcium hydroxide content stimulates reparative dentine formation and provides an alkaline antibacterial effect; radiopaque, so it is not mistaken for recurrent caries on a follow-up radiograph; syringe delivery with a fine tip places a precise, thin layer exactly over the deepest point.
Directions to use
Excavate the caries and clean the cavity. Isolate and dry. Apply a thin layer (approximately 0.5 mm) over the deepest dentine only, immediately adjacent to the pulp — do not line the entire cavity, as this reduces the bonded surface area available to the adhesive. Light-cure for the time stated in the IFU. Cover with a glass ionomer base if a further barrier is required, then etch, bond and restore as normal. Do not use for direct pulp capping over a frank exposure, where MTA or a bioceramic is the better-evidenced material. Recap the syringe and store away from operatory light. Confirm exact composition, setting times and contraindications against the SafeEndo IFU before publishing.
