Features and benefits

  • Combines haemostasis with tissue retraction in a single application, so a bleeding sulcus is controlled and displaced at the same time — the two problems that most often ruin a crown impression; astringent action stops sulcular bleeding within minutes without the systemic effects or tachycardia associated with adrenaline-containing cords; compatible with polyvinyl siloxane impression materials when rinsed thoroughly, unlike some sulphate-based haemostatics which inhibit the set; also useful before bonding a cervical restoration, cementing a crown or taking a digital scan of a subgingival margin. The gel viscosity holds in the sulcus and does not run onto the preparation or into the mouth, which a liquid does; the fine intrasulcular tip delivers it exactly where it is needed with minimal waste.

Directions to use

Isolate and dry the field. Place the fine tip into the sulcus and express the gel around the full circumference of the margin. Leave for the time stated in the IFU, typically one to two minutes. Rinse thoroughly with water — residue must be removed completely, as it will inhibit the set of polyvinyl siloxane impression material and impair adhesive bonding. Dry and take the impression or proceed with cementation immediately, before the sulcus collapses. Avoid prolonged tissue contact and do not force the tip apically into the attachment. Recap the syringe after use. Confirm exact composition, setting times and contraindications against the SafeEndo IFU before publishing.
