Dentsply began in 1899 in New York as a maker of artificial teeth. In 2016 it merged with Germany's Sirona to form Dentsply Sirona, the world's largest dental manufacturer. Its group includes Maillefer and VDW (endodontics), Astra Tech and Ankylos (implants) and CEREC (CAD/CAM). Famous products include ProTaper and WaveOne files, SDR flowable, Prime&Bond and Cavitron scalers. Primescan intraoral scanners and CEREC chairside systems lead in digital dentistry. Dentsply has a long-standing presence in India with local offices and training. The name stands for end-to-end solutions, from consumables to digital workflows.
